Programme

In 2018 CECOG started an annual event on thoracic cancers – the CECOG Thoracic Cancers Academy. This event has now already become an annual tradition and was held in a rotating way in various major cities of the geographic region of Central and South-eastern Europe.

CECOG has become one of the most important providers of continuing medical education in oncology in Central and Southeastern Europe during recent years by establishing an abundance of educational events consisting of the establishment of repeatedly held Academies (for pancreas cancer, lung cancer and the skeletal system), Preceptorships, Fellowship Programs, State of the Art Meetings and, finally, Consensus Conferences.

The CECOG Thoracic Academy is intended for all researchers and specialists being involved in research and/or treatment of thoracic malignancies: molecular biologists, pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, and palliative care specialists.

The first and the second Thoracic Oncology Conferences were held in Brdo, Slovenia – February 2018, April 2019.  The 3rd one was held in November 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia.
